Background
One Piece is a long-running manga and anime series created by Eiichiro Oda that follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, on their quest to find the legendary treasure known as the "One Piece" and for Luffy to become the King of the Pirates. The current Straw Hat crew consists of ten members: Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe.
Creator Eiichiro Oda has historically been reluctant to kill off major characters in the series. In particular, he has indicated that he does not intend to kill any Straw Hat Pirates, especially during the Final Saga, as each crew member has their own dreams and aspirations that Oda wants to see fulfilled by the end of the story.
Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to YES if any current member of the Straw Hat Pirates (Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, or Jinbe) dies permanently before the One Piece treasure is discovered by the crew.
The market will resolve to NO if all current Straw Hat members survive until the One Piece is found, or if the series concludes without any Straw Hat deaths regardless of whether the One Piece is found.
For clarity:
Temporary "deaths" that are later reversed do not count (as has happened with Brook, who died but returned as a skeleton)
New members who might join the crew after this market's creation are not considered for resolution
If a character leaves the crew permanently before dying, their death would still count for a YES resolution
