The Millenium prizes have $1 million attached to them. This prize was pledged in 2000, and so far no prizes have been payed out. In the intervening 22 years, inflation has been a cumulative ~73%, meaning that the prize amount today is "equivalent" to a little less than $600k today. Will the Clay Foundation adjust the prize amount to take this effect into account, when awarding the next prize?

This question resolves YES if the prize amount is adjusted and inflation is quoted as a reason why. (It is sufficient if "cost of living", or something transparently directly linked to common inflation measures, is quoted. If it's not obvious to me, it doesn't count.) No awards are necessary for a YES resolution, just a pledge.

This question resolves NO if the prize amount is not adjusted by the time the first prize is awarded, or if the adjustment is attributed entirely to other factors. Note that if the actual prize awarded is larger than $1 million, but the Clay foundation just says "well we have plenty of money" (or any other non-inflation excuse), this is a NO.

A NO resolution requires a prize to be awarded.
