My favorite social media platform offers the option to suspend users accounts for a specified time if they themselves choose so. During that time Pictures and Video are still visible but not the comment section where all the fun happens.
Will I spend less time on the phone if I do that for a week?
Background:
I am trying to debug myself -as I always do- to find more joy and meaning in life.
I tend to be overwhelmed a lot and passive leisure time, like watching TV, playing single-player games and hanging around on social media, seems to be my goto resolution. I guess this is part of my mental-health problem.
I always tried to train myself to use a more productive response and had some success (e.g. regular exercise), but maintenance is constantly required and mentally expensive.
Resolution criteria:
YES if the cumulative screen time my tracking-app shows me is significantly less than that of last weeks market: https://manifold.markets/Schwabilismus/how-mich-time-will-i-spend-in-the-p?r=U2Nod2FiaWxpc211cw
NO if the number is roughly the same.
"Significantly" and "roughly" will be judged by me, based on my feelings about the outcome. I guess if I save an hour a day that would count as significant.
Market will resolve at 11 am UTC+1 on Monday 18th March, exactly one week after the number from the previous market is up.
Market criteria:
I will take part in this market at the beginning but will not buy or sell after my initial purchase.
I will regularly post screenshots of the tracking app, just like in last weeks market
Updates:
I reinstalled the app to reset the time
See comments for resolution. Tldl: it came out to about 47 hours as opposed yo 58 from last week. So I'd say that this resolves as YES
