I have a cat that generally spends most of the day outdoors, but comes inside in the evening, usually around 7-9 pm, and spends the night indoors. It is pretty rare for him not to spend the night inside; it's only happened a few times before. He goes out each morning around 6-7 am.

On Wednesday night (6/19, two days ago) he didn't show up, and I haven't seen him since then. I live in a suburb in southern California; there are coyotes but they're not common (I see one maybe once or twice a year).

My cat is fairly competent at killing things, but I've never seen him eat any animals that he's caught. He relies on me for food. He is 12 years old but hasn't shown signs of ill health. He is neutered and microchipped.

Will my cat come back within the next week? Resolves to YES if he comes back or is brought back by someone. Resolves to NO if he has not been seen by the time I go to bed on the evening of 6/28.
