The League of Legends World Championships (today stylized as Worlds) is held annually between top teams from regions around the globe. In the first World Championship, held in 2011, European team Fnatic emerged victorious. Since then, every World Championship has been won by a team from an Asian country. Western teams have only reached the finals twice since 2011, never since 2019, and have never won a game in finals since 2011.
For the purposes of this market, a Western team must be a team that is based in a North American, South American, or European country. Their starting roster must be composed of a majority of players who are lawful permanent residents of a North American, South American, or European country, or who are officially considered as such by Riot Games (such as through a legacy exception).
For this market to resolve YES, the Western team must win a tournament that is officially recgnized by Riot Games as the World Championship, and that contains at least one team originating from an Asian country.
This market will resolve NO if no officially recognized World Championship is held for a period of two consecutive years, or if League of Legends is no longer available to play for the general public. The closing date of the market may be extended as needed.
