Hey guys, I recently bought NO for Other by a certain amount say 100, and then bought NO on another regular option by half amount say 50. But then a user added a new option, which effectively distributed my NO position on the Other across all previously existing options as the YES with the same amount. But for the option, I additionally bought 50 NO for, now had instead 50 YES. This is quite annoying because It technically erased all the mana I put into that previously since I knew the buy on this option was worthless.
But after the market was closed I saw that that NO position seemed to have made some returns somehow. I have no idea how that happened. Does anyone that know better how that works?
Btw imho, distributing NO positions on the new option and keeping the same amount on the Other option when a new option is created will be fairer I think. I am also curious about the reason Metafold decided to implement it this way.
When you buy NO, you’re effectively buying a YES for every option listed. If all of the listed options Resolve NO, you get a partial payout of the full NO on Others. If one of the ones that was currently listed Resolved YES, you’d still get most of the NOs paid out.
Does that make sense? When you buy a NO on Other, I wouldn’t buy NO on any listed options. It’s smarter to just selective NOs on a few, or a NO on Other to bet YES on the field.
Does that make sense?
