In light of alt-account voting shenanigans in the past, I will count physical ballots to determine who will be Contestants A and B for this Nash Pit. Whoever has the most votes and the second-most votes will be invited on stage to play if they are eligible.

Potential Contestants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • be physically present at the show

  • have a Manifold account AND can prove their Manifold identity to me

  • are not Manifold staff

  • have not been a past Contestant in previous Nash Pits

  • are willing AND able to participate

  • will ante Ṁ10,000 OR will be sponsored/loaned their ante on the spot.

If there is a tie for most votes, then both will be invited instead. If there is only one person with the most votes, and there is a tie for second-most, then the tiebreaker will be broken by whoever has the loudest audience cheer, as judged by @Gen. If no votes are cast, then we improvise. If an invitation is declined, then the next most voted for person will be invited with similar tiebreaker handling. Each ballot is a single-name submission (and is not ranked choice).

Having a name on this market is not a prerequisite to be invited. Anybody can add anybody to the market, but duplicates will be N/A'd. An invitation can be declined. Market resolves YES to the 2 Contestants that accept the invitation. All else resolve NO. Have fun arbitraging this. I can trade on this market.

In the vanishingly unlikely chance of this happening, this resolves YES if we fail to get 2 Contestants. If 1 person accepts, and we can't get a second, this is a YES.

By extension, if we are in a world where we only got one person to accept, then they still resolve NO if we can't get a second.

Wait, so do they have to have an option listed for them on this market?

@realTomBayes They don't have to be on the board. This market is more of a subgame than the main game to get on stage.

However, whoever adds a name to the board gets the unique trader bonuses for that answer. I'll add a stipulation that duplicates will be N/A'd, though.
