Background
The 3rd Test match between Australia and the West Indies is scheduled to take place at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica, from July 12 to 16, 2025. This match is part of the Frank Worrell Trophy series and the ICC World Test Championship 2025. Notably, this will be a day-night Test match, played under lights with a pink ball, marking Australia's first overseas day-night Test (foxsports.com.au).
In the previous two matches of the series, Australia secured victories, winning the first Test by 159 runs and the second Test by 133 runs (windiescricket.com). Key players to watch include Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins for Australia, and Shamar Joseph for the West Indies, all of whom have demonstrated significant impact in recent matches.
Considerations
The day-night format introduces variables such as the behavior of the pink ball under lights, which can affect swing and seam movement, potentially influencing batting and bowling performances. Additionally, the weather conditions in Kingston during July can be unpredictable, with potential for rain interruptions that could impact the match's duration and outcome.
