Alaska uses instant runoff voting, meaning that candidates can rank their choices, and, if no candidate gets the majority of first-place votes, candidates are eliminated until one has won the majority. Last year, Mary Peltola won the at-large district with 55% after the instant runoff, but she only had 48.8% in the first round. If she, or another candidate, gets more than 50% of the first-place votes, then they would win outright without needing to tabulate any more rounds of voting.
