The Silly Court is our new institution at Manifold to help resolve silly questions. The question up for trial in this market is Obama's last name. The comments section of this market will be used for each side's lawyers to argue their case. To become a lawyer for one side, all you have to do is post a comment in support of your favored side.
Closing arguments may be made on April 1, when the jurors will vote on the resolution. To become a juror, all you have to do is vote on the resolution. A hung jury will occur if the final vote is a tie. In this case, the top shareholders on each tied side will play a to-be-determined silly game to decide the resolution.
Whoever submits the winning answer gets the lawyer fee bounty, which due to silly reasons is contained in two markets:
It's time for the jury to vote! Here is the secret form for the jury to vote with. you can change your vote at any time if someone makes a new argument today to convince you: https://forms.gle/exfmDfqymVjaAGZS8
It seems that my inclusion of an option with backspace characters broke Google's ability to make a pie chart (or at least I assume that's what happened).
However, I can still easily get the results by going to the "Question" tab in the form results.
There were five total jurors, and "Administration," submitted by Timothy Johnson, was the only option with more than one vote.
@TimothyJohnson5c16, you can collect your lawyerly salary by commenting on /PlasmaBallin/silly-court-lawyer-fees-find-obamas so that I can give you the bounty.
I just realized that I totally forgot about the whole "each side can remove up to two jurors" thing, and the mechanism I used to do the vote makes it impossible for me to tell who voted for what. This is a very silly mistake for me to make, so much so that it outweighs the silliness of any possible reason for excluding a juror.

@PlasmaBallin In the future, I think the timespan for these markets could be a lot shorter. The actual discussion here was over within a few days, so a week would probably be sufficient.
@TimothyJohnson5c16 Seems like an unintended consequence of making "search" and "add answer" use different text boxes is that it's much easier to add an already existing answer by accident.
@PlasmaBallin I'm going to add this to my ongoing suggestion/feedback/insistence about this on Discord
Time to make my formal case for Obama McBamaFace.
Starting with the famous Boaty McBoatface (https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/boaty-mcboatface), there's been a long tradition of things being named in this format via internet polls. In almost all cases, the survey results have been honored.
By voting for McBamaFace, you are voting for a self-fulfilling prophecy. If the people want McBamaFace, the Silly Jury will have no choice but to honor it, or else they'd be contradicting a noble precedent set by many years of internet silliness.
It is wholly irrelevant what Obama's last name might previously have been. Before us is an opportunity to set a new canonical truth, following in the footsteps of our internet elders. Use it wisely.
He's actually Irish, so this is the correct spelling.
