Check theatrical release status via Box Office Mojo or The Numbers.

Background

The sequel was announced in April 2022, but production was delayed multiple times while Reeves committed to perfecting the script, which was completed in June 2025. The movie was delayed a full year from October 2, 2026, which was a new date from a previous delay from October 3, 2025. Filming is scheduled to start at the beginning of May 2026, at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and Liverpool in England, as well as in Glasgow. The Batman: Part II is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2027, with Reeves returning as the director and co-writer with Mattson Tomlin. Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell reprise their respective roles as Batman, Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and the Penguin, while Scarlett Johansson entered negotiations in December 2025 to join the cast.

Considerations

While a five-year period between the first and the second installment is quite a lot, The Batman - Part II is currently on track to meet its October 1, 2027 release date. However, the film has experienced multiple delays in the past, and major blockbusters occasionally face unforeseen production challenges that could affect theatrical release plans.
