Trackmania 2020 has several different surfaces: road, dirt, grass etc. One of the most controversial surfaces has been ice. On 2022-10-01 Nadeo released an update with the goal of improving ice by
Decreasing the impact of action keys
Removing ice wiggles
While they did reduce the impact of action keys, they made the surface slower overall and many ice players have disliked the changes. They also didn't completely remove ice wiggles, as there's still a type of ice wiggle that can increase ones speed. The update also introduced some new problems with ice, such as a slowdown bug which has not yet been patched.
The problems which still exist may make one think there will be another ice update this year, now when Nadeo isn't busy with the console release. On the other hand, releasing new physics isn't something which the community or Nadeo likes to see too often. The question to ask is then
Will Nadeo change ice physics in Trackmania 2020, before 2024?
This question will resolve YES if any of the following happens:
Nadeo updates the cars physics on ice, changing old and new maps.
Nadeo adds a new ice surface which has updated ice physics while keeping the old ice surface in the game. This would not change old maps, but would change new maps.
Nadeo changes how slideouts work on ice
Nadeo fixes the slowdown bug
This question will resolve NO if any of the following happens:
Nadeo does not change ice in any way
Nadeo changes the geometry of ice blocks without changing any of the physics
