The iPhone 16 is the hypothetical next generation of Apple's popular iPhone series, which is expected to be released in the future. At the time of this writing, the iPhone 15 has not yet been released, so the iPhone 16 is likely several years away.
The question of whether or not the iPhone 16 will have a charging port is a topic of speculation and debate among technology enthusiasts and industry analysts. Apple has been a trendsetter in the smartphone industry, often introducing new features that are subsequently adopted by other manufacturers. One such example is the removal of the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, which sparked a wider trend in the industry.
Apple has been experimenting with wireless charging technology for several years and has already released devices that support wireless charging. Some analysts speculate that the iPhone 16 may not have a physical charging port at all and will rely entirely on wireless charging. Others believe that Apple may adopt a new type of charging port or continue to use the Lightning port that has been a staple of the iPhone series for many years.

How this market be resolved if there are several iPhone 16 models (smth like 16; 16 pro; 16 pro max) and only one of them has no charging port?
And what will be the resolution of this market if the presence/absence of charging port is a feature in one of the models (for example there is is possible to buy iphone 16 pro max with or without charging port.
This market is insane. What's going on here? There is no plausible theory that makes it >1-2% likely that Apple would go portless just one year after they switch to USB-C.
(1. Rumours that the iPhone would go to USB-C started to become concrete 2-3 y before the switch, not, like, a few months before. 2. The iPhone is an immensely important product and Apple changes it very slowly & conservatively. Doing this would massively impact sales, especially just one year after, which Apple would not be interested in.)
@JonathanMannhart Also, just one year after they made a huge fuss about carbon emissions and energy consumption in their iPhone keynote. Look up the efficiencies of wireless charging!
Sure, in the long run Apple is working towards that, but the improvement needed in wireless charging technology is still massive and wouldn't happen in… months. (Rather, weeks. The 16 is already basically completed at this point, design-wise.)
