@PS I know this is a tiresome objection, but that article actually says they haven't met yet (as do all articles, because afaik they haven't)
I don't know if it's an update in the Reuters article, but it reads:
"As Putin arrived at the Great Hall of the People for an evening banquet organised for global leaders and dignitaries attending the forum, Xi was all smiles as the two men shook hands.
Putin, as the forum's chief guest, stood to the right of Xi as world leaders posed for group photographs at the Great Hall."
@PS I believe it's an update, but it obviously renders my objection moot.
(I didn't know that Reuters update articles like that and for various reasons it seems a bad idea)
@JoshuaWilkes I also think it's bad for transparency and source checking, but I guess more outlets are doing this now.
