SPOILERS ABOUND:

We are down to the final three contestants for Netflix’s “Squid Game Challenge” , which is a reality game show adaptation of 2021’s “Squid Game.” I know, I know—cringe, corporate and co-opting the message of the original series—but holy smokes, folks, it had me on the edge of my seat for 90% of the episodes so far. Thrilling, truly.

We’re down to just three contestants (listed above). Based on the post-production editing meta, I have a very strong feeling about who this will resolve to, but it’s really anyone’s game. I highly recommend you watch the series yourself or at least a brief recap before the series finale airs Wednesday, December 6, at 12AM PST.

I know I definitely wanted Bee (#018) to win, but the three we got aren’t, uh, the worst, comparatively speaking… there have been some true psychos / Dark Triads in this competition that were fortunately eliminated before the finale. 🪦

While it seems like there should be only one winner, in the event of a Black Swan, I will resolve to either the “N/A” option (no winners) or the multiple winners (in the highly unlikely case there is more than one). This is the first time Netflix is doing a show like this, and I wouldn’t put it past them to do something weird for the finale… but don’t think it’s too likely! Any “multiple winner” bets more than 1% are very likely to be bad ones.

Remember! Any comments below will contain heavy spoilers up to the end of episode 9, so be wary if you haven’t watched it yet! Let the betting begin…

Note: for those wondering “why this took longer than expected to close,” I was planning to watch it immediately upon release and resolve within an hour of closing, but Netflix fucked up their PR again and randomly decided to release the finale at a significantly different time from the rest of the episodes, preventing me from resolving it until I had the chance to watch the episode myself.

I think Netflix is more consistently entertaining than Manifold, so forgive me if you think it was wrong for me to not spoil the results for myself by doing a quick Google search for the winner immediately upon streaming release. Idgaf about a less than 24 hour delay from conceivable resolution; I do occasionally venture offline.

(I do not feel bad about the multiple choice option here because I was 100% transparent about that fact and why I did it from the very beginning, as described in the description. If you didn’t like that premise… you shouldn’t have bet on the market? Lmao.)

Thanks to the good sports who took their wins/losses without complaint 👍

Goddammit, Netflix!!! Psyching me out with that meta there.

The whole way they decided to portray Mai over the course of the season was sooooooo uneven IMO. I’m actually kind of glad I wasn’t able to predict it at all because that’s what made it so entertaining!!!

No, if only I could walk out of here with $4.56 million dollars after getting to rank one of master’s… that would be worth fighting for…

(Gotta admit I was intrigued by the casting call for season 2, but after hearing about the conditions the contestants had to endure this last go-round, I’m not sure I’d make it 😬 )

After reading @Emanuele676 ‘s comment below and double checking news re the episode today, I decided to adjust the close date to the minute before the episode airs (11:59 PM pst) to prevent cheating.

I doubt it is "live streaming," so simply someone can skip the episode and find out the ending right away, right?

@Emanuele98 Hmm it’s difficult to be sure. They’ve played around with the live streaming format before, but there’s no news either way at the moment if that’s what they’re going to do for this or not. Perhaps I will readjust the closing time back up to a half hour earlier.
