My thinking: this is very close. Party conference is the 1st to 4th of October. If she wants a by-election in the days before conference, to cause a stir, the election would most likely be on Thursday 28th September. Assuming 28 days to process the election, she would need to hand her notice in around the 28th of August. But if she’s not aiming to upset conference then she might drag it out even further!
