Broadcast television has been struggling for years with the advent of online streaming and VOD. The BBC's unique funding model has been threatened by the government, and Channel 4 have been threatened with privatisation. So the question is, which of them will see through the next decade?

Each option resolves YES if the relevant channel can be viewed on 1st February 2035 for free.

Errata and clarifications:

  • Channel must be viewable on FreeView, or any rebrand of that service, or any successor service that provides the same feature of live broadcast television, not over the internet, free to view for anyone in the UK with a TV licence (or replacement)

  • Content matters not: if the channel shows nothing but a test card all day then it still counts as being broadcast.

Now mana has no cash value I'm going to inject some liquidity into long term questions I think are interesting just to see what happens.
