Resolution criteria

This resolves to YES if the creators lf Rec Room officially announce a, later date for the permanent shutdown of the game, i.e: beyond June 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM PT; even if it's just 1 day later. It resolves to NO if the platform ceases operations as scheduled on June 1, 2026, or earlier.

Official updates from the Rec Room official blog or the official rec.net website will serve as the primary sources for resolution.

Background

On March 30, 2026, Rec Room Inc. officially announced that the social gaming platform will shut down permanently on June 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time. The company cited an inability to reach sustainable profitability despite the platform's decade-long history and over 150 million registered users. In preparation for the closure, the company has already implemented various service restrictions, including halting new account registrations and suspending the ability to sign up for Rec Room+ (RR+).
