Resolution criteria
This market resolves to YES if, between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, inclusive (UTC), a formal lawsuit for defamation, public insult (diffamation or injure publique), or a related reputational tort is officially filed in a court of law against Juan Branco by any of the following parties:
Mistral AI (Mistral AI SAS or any of its corporate subsidiaries).
Any of Mistral AI's co-founders (such as Arthur Mensch, Guillaume Lample, or Timothée Lacroix) or initial stakeholders (such as Cédric O) acting in connection with statements made about Mistral AI or their roles in it.
Any of Mistral AI's official institutional or corporate investors acting on behalf of their funds or in relation to their investment in Mistral AI.
A "formal lawsuit" is defined as a documented legal filing in court (such as a citation directe or plainte avec constitution de partie civile in France, or equivalent formal civil/criminal complaints in other jurisdictions). Public threats of litigation, cease-and-desist letters, or out-of-court demands do not count unless a formal lawsuit is filed.
If no such lawsuit is officially filed by the end of December 31, 2026, the market resolves to NO.

Background
French lawyer and political activist Juan Branco (@anatolium on X) has repeatedly targeted the French AI startup Mistral AI and its co-founders. Following Mistral AI's record-breaking €3 billion funding round in September 2026, which valued the company at €21.3 billion, public focus shifted to co-founder and former French digital minister Cédric O. Cédric O initially invested only €176.10 in April 2023, a stake whose paper value soared to roughly €90 million, sparking widespread allegations of conflict of interest.
Branco has fiercely criticized Mistral AI's CEO Arthur Mensch and Cédric O on X and in media interviews (including an appearance on Thinkerview in September 2026), prompting speculation over whether the company or its representatives will seek legal recourse for defamation. Notably, Cédric O previously filed a defamation suit against producer Bertrand Burgalat over conflict of interest allegations, which he lost in March 2026.
