I've been noticing for a few days now that, when I first open the Twitter/X app on Android, it defaults to the "For You" tab, and I have to manually switch to the "Following" tab. This seems to be a change in behavior; I believe the app has always defaulted to "Following" for me if that was what I was viewing the last time I had the app open.
Is this an intentional change by the app developers to encourage more people to use the "For You" tab, and will this remain the case in the future? During the first few days of 2024 (right after market close), I will try to take note of what tab I see as the default when I first open Twitter/X that day. If it defaults to "Following" on at least three days, this market resolves YES; otherwise it resolves NO. In the unlikely event that I am no longer regularly using Twitter/X for some reason, or if I am no longer using an Android device, it will resolve N/A.
Considerations:
I will do my best to ensure the Android app is up to date when doing this test. (I have no pending updates as I write this.)
It's fine if there's a setting I need to explicitly change in the app somewhere to get this behavior as long as it persists between sessions.
I will not personally be betting in this market.
