This being #dragonslaypril, I'm going to be attempting to get at least one speedrun of Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II (the sequel to Dragon Slayer 6) in before the end of the month (hopefully this coming weekend). I will be playing the PC-98 version on real hardware (with a flash-based hard drive emulator).
The only prior speedrun of this game I could find is this one of the Super Famicom version from 2012. That person's time was somewhere around 5:30:00. But they exploited a bug in the SFC version that allows them to get midgame equipment at the beginning of the game and bypass a lot of the difficulty of the first couple of chapters. It doesn't look like the PC-98 has an equivalent bug, so I'm going to have to deal with the early game in the intended way (i.e., grinding). That means it'll probably take me a fair amount longer.
Aside from that, the SFC version looks like it has faster movement, but slower menuing and text speed, so I'm not sure how time in the late game will compare between platforms.

Resolves to the duration of my first speedrun of this game (number of hours as a floating-point value, with as much precision as Manifold allows). In the unlikely event that I don't complete a run of the game by the close date, resolves N/A.
