Resolution Criteria
The series finale of Stranger Things airs December 31 at 8 pm ET. This market resolves based on which characters die in the season 5 finale episode. Resolution will be determined by watching the final episode on Netflix and identifying which of the listed characters (Anyone can add their own) experience death. Each character resolves YES if they die in the finale, NO if they survive. I reserve the right to use N/A or partial resolutions as necessary, you can ask me any questions.
Background
No major characters died in Stranger Things season 5 volumes 1-2, meaning the core ensemble will all make it to the series finale alive. However, Eleven feels uneasy about a sacrifice her sister Kali has asked her to make, with a moment suggesting Eleven may have agreed to Kali's plan to stay in the Upside Down when it explodes. The Duffer Brothers promise "some things happen in the finale that are very surprising" but aim for outcomes that feel "inevitable" and "satisfying" rather than shocking.
Considerations
The Duffer Brothers have promised that Stranger Things 5 contains "the most violent death of any season", yet no major characters have died through volume 2. This suggests significant deaths are reserved for the finale. The creators emphasized this is "not Game of Thrones" and there will be "no Red Wedding situation", indicating deaths, if they occur, will likely feel narratively earned rather than arbitrary.
