The reason because I wrote "so-called" in the title is because in no way do I understand, how such a performance could be derogatory for the original artist or Black people in general.

The social consensus seems to be there for things such as blackface or saying racial slurs (which also happened in the last episode of TTBZ lol) context has absolutely zero bearing on unacceptability. Which seems like it would lead to worse outcomes but hey, not my choice to make. And as a descriptivist who am I to say what language ought to mean anyway?
