For our first two children, we used a car seat from a 3-in-1 car seat / stroller combination.

My wife thinks they both cried a lot in the car because the car seat was uncomfortable, and wants to buy a higher quality car seat for future children.
I think babies just cry a lot and a different car seat won't make a difference.

in my experience children just do or don't like car rides innately, but also the 3 in 1 seats are necessarily dinky and compromise on design

What methodology will you use to determine crying amount? What about less frequent but more intense/disruptive crying?

I'll try to get a consensus between me and my wife.

Regarding frequency/intensity, the main factor is how miserable everyone is doing car trips. If freq/intensity changes balanced out, it would be a wash and I would resolve NO.

Does this resolve N/A if you do not buy a new car seat?
