If I test my testosterone level, will I find it significantly (>=1SD) lower than male-average?

Good chance I'll never get around to testing, in which case I will close this N/A

What clinically validated reference range you using? What assay?

@jeremiahsamroo Anyway, labcorp's 95% reference range for LC-MS/MS is 350-970 ng/dl with a mean of 546. The implied standard deviation is about 160 ng/dl. It is very hard to be sub 400 unless you are old and fat.

I've had my hormone (and other things) levels tested and everything was very average. I'm still happy having done it, since it's things off my list that could impact me long term.

It also serves as a reference for my healthy and natural levels, in case that's relevant at some point.

Are you planning on testing because you suspect this might be the case? Or just for idle curiosity?

(rereading, I see you may not be planning on testing, oops)

@BionicD0LPH1N I am basically trying every cheap experiment that seems remotely plausible to treat my ADHD and I've heard anecdotally about people finding that testosterone helped with concentration. If it turns out my T is unusually low, bringing it up into a normal range seems like a good cheap experiment. If my T is normal or high, I wouldn't want to try raising it.

Question, are you testing against the average for your age? And how old are you?

@CooperDaniels 37 and yes, I'm gonna say the average for my age.
