I'm using the Firefox extension leechblock for counting time spent on my laptop and the default iOS screentime function for time spent on my phone.

For this market, time spent on youtube, facebook and instagram on my laptop and time spent on instagram on my phone count. (I don't have facebook and youtube apps on my phone, and will only count time on instagram and not the default social media bucket offered by the screentime function).

Resolution : This market resolves YES if average daily counted time during the two next weeks (18 to 31 march included) using same method is no higher than 60 minutes per day. In the event calculations yield an average of exactly 60 minutes per day, this resolves YES.

Disclaimer : For a class I attend, one professor recommended us to watch some YouTube videos that are part of the MIT open courseware. I did not watch any of these videos yet, but I may watch some of them during the next two weeks. In which case, I reserve the right to watch them using Google Chrome, therefore not counting time I spend watching them, because the purpose of this market is to reduce time I spend doomscrolling, not to fail this semester.

I will only bet YES on this market, and won't sell any YES shares.

bought Ṁ1,000 YES

Total 12h54 over 2 weeks which makes a daily average of 55.3 minutes a day.

Update after 1 week : it's Sunday 11 PM - ish, my LeechBlock stats say 3h16 since Monday count for this market, and I spent 4h21 on instagram on my phone. Started the week badly towards the goal of this market. Had a really busy end of the week but that helped me less than I expected. Total is 7h37 over the course of a week, which approximately equals 65 minutes a day on average. Which means I'm currently not on track.

Yesterday I spent more than an hour on the doomscrolling bucket of my laptop alone :/ I only see one solution for this…

bought Ṁ452 YES

…which is deeper mana commitment through ridiculous overbets of course
