Resolves Yes the moment a certain percentage (in relation to a patch’s total mass as of 2024) of the garbage patch is cleared, and No the moment a certain date is reached without the progress required for a Yes resolution.
“X% eliminated” in this market means “percent of a total mass”, not “percent of a total area”. As of today (Sept 2024), the total mass of the Great Pacific garbage patch seems to be around 79,000 metric tons.
