I will be happy after Dr. Tehrany breaks my jaw

I am getting double jaw surgery on February 25 to correct my open bite and overbite (unfixable with braces), my nasal airway (makes it harder to nose breathe), and my recessed lower jaw (looks goofy).

Jaw surgeries may leave patients dissatisfied due to numbness from nerve damage, and dysphoria from unexpected aesthetic results. I don't feel very anxious about my appearance, but I am more worried about nerve damage. For successful jaw surgery, it is commonly recommended to get it when young, to have an experienced surgeon, and to have a surgeon-orthodontist team who work closely together. I'm 30 years old and I think I have one of the best surgeon orthodontist teams (Gabriella Tehrany and Matthew MacGinnis).

6 months after the date of surgery, I will resolve YES if I am glad to have gotten surgery and NO if I am either neutral or I think I would rather have not gotten surgery at all, with the full benefit of hindsight. I will not consider cost and time of surgery in this judgment - I'll only think about whether my body is physically better.

I won’t bet in this market.

(before resolving the other option, this was a conditional market about two different surgeons)

One of my trans amigas said she's jealous of my small chin because she likes that it looks cute and feminine. Also I'm learning more about how brutal the liquid diet recovery period is going to be. Oh well, I'm definitely still doing surgery, breathing and orthodontics are more important!

I got an outside opinion from another oral/maxillofacial surgeon, Dr Hammoudeh. He took one look at me and said I need double jaw surgery.

I met Dr. Tehrany. She says she wants to break both my jaws. Breaking my upper jaw will let me breathe better because my nasal airway is currently too small. I said ok. The 🪚 is scheduled for February.
