The Transcontinental Chief is a proposed coast-to-coast Amtrak line going from NYC to LA, using the currently-existing Pennsylvanian and Southwest Chief Amtrak lines. It hopes to be operational by May 10th 2026 ahead of the semiquincentennial and World Cup. Will it be?

Resolves YES if this happens and I can purchase a ticket for a roughly-72-hour train ride from New York City to Los Angeles on May 11th (at least theoretically — if it's sold out for a bit it'll still resolve YES).
