Given that we have 100 participants completing the Big Taping Truth Trial, will we detect a significant (p<0.05) result in any of the primary outcome measures?
The Big Taping Truth Trial, organized by Cosimo Research, is the first large study to date about the efficacy of mouth taping in the general population. More information can be found in the first page of the study registration form or on Cosimo's website. The primary outcome measures are sleep efficiency, respiratory rate, and heart rate (as measured by Oura, Whoop, or Apple Watch) and sleep satisfaction (as measured by daily survey response, 1-5 rating). Since it is a crossover study where each individual experiences both treatments, for each outcome metric, we will perform a two-tailed paired t-test and compute the p-value.
