i think so….it will be better for me this way. Uk instead of suffocating inside me getting uneasy, jealous everytime she goes out with someone ig definitely better in the long run…..but yeah i’m definitely sad more cuz of i lost my best friend probably the greatest one i ever had till now

with this little info I'd say ask her out, but

if she declines then it's not her responsibility to make you get over her(!) (I think that's a main way your friendship could break, I myself would and did distance for 2~4 weeks and pick stuff up afterwards again)

Also some people love being chased a lot, make sure to properly do that before you ask (I think go have some dates meetups that subtlely decrease in plausible deniability about your feelings), so you won't be second-guessing any refusal she makes.
