What is it socially acceptable to trade mana for?
Real money (breaks the Manifold rules)
Anything except literal real money, no limit
Less than $99 of net lifetime value outside Manifold
Purely sentimental or subjective value outside Manifold
Anything within the Manifold ecosystem
Only loans, personal bets, tips, or other accountable actions that improve market accuracy or strengthen the mana economy

It is against the rules to sell mana for money. But plenty of users trade mana for personal favors that may not occur fully within the Manifold platform. What can an otherwise respected, high-balance user can get away with without being called out by users or chided by Manifold deputies?

For what it’s worth, I think paying for favors in the FOLDED game falls within the Manifold ecosystem, even though it’s run independently.
