Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if, by the end of May, Palestinian activists successfully shut down operations at the Ontario Food Terminal for any duration. Credible reports from reputable news organizations or official statements from the Ontario Food Terminal will serve as the basis for resolution. If no such shutdown occurs by the specified date, the market will resolve to "No."
Background
The Ontario Food Terminal, located in Toronto, is Canada's largest produce distribution center and the third largest in North America. It operates 24/7, facilitating the distribution of produce to stores and restaurants across the city. (en.wikipedia.org)
In recent years, there have been instances of pro-Palestinian activists targeting various businesses and infrastructure in Canada. For example, in April 2024, protesters blocked access to the Deltaport container terminal in British Columbia, disrupting operations for several hours. Currently, right-wing accounts are claiming online that Palestinian activists have shut it down. However, no mainstream news sources have reported on this and the Food Terminal itself has not released a statement.
