Approximately one quarter of the way through the 2025-2026 NBA season, a few teams are starting to fall behind (understatement)..

Decided to put together a first-past-the-post market. Everyone’s watching juggernauts like the Thunder losing just one of their first 24 games, and I just wanna see who’s booking their ticket to be one-and-done with the regular season.

If you add a team, please add city and nickname at a minimum, record by date is optional but preferred.

Updated tonight. NOTE: Does not include results of tonight's games.

This looks to be a two-horse race.

The Pacers are 16.5 games behind the 10-seed in the Eastern Conference with 18 games remaining on schedule.

The Kings are 16 games behind the 10-seed in the Western Conference with 17 games remaining on schedule.

Do with that information what you will!

@Zeolite thanks for the ping! I’ve resolved.

Two thirds through the season (several teams on the board have played 54 games) so I’ve updated the records through last night.

We're not quite halfway through the season, but it's clear a couple of these teams have improved over the holidays.

I've updated for all records prior to games scheduled for today (1/11/2026), and I'll periodically fill these in with more details as the end of the regular season draws closer.

I'll put a happy little spreadsheet together where I gauge the games remaining against "games behind the 10 seed" in a team's respective conference.

The Kings, for example, aren't looking great, but technically, they're only 8 games out of qualifying for the playoff play-ins (yes, a thing) with 44 games left on their schedule. Far from impossible at this point.
