Resolves at my discretion. I've had very unproductive october, november, and so far, mildly but dissatisfyingly productive december. i will only bet up to 50%, and at time of market creation, I'm uncertain whether I'll do that.

These are some things which are very effective for me:

  1. Wagering money on achieving productivity goals in a specified time, e.g. X minutes of work on Y before 10:00 a.m. (several tasks like that per day). There are some apps for this but I found them very low quality and just literally throw money out (not charity so that I can't think to myself that it's good either way). Even very small amounts of money work for me but you can experiment with higher amounts if that doesn't seem to work.

  2. If you have trouble falling asleep, here's something I came up with myself that makes me fall asleep super fast. I make up a ~story (any kind of sequence of words), trying to rhyme and maintain some melody but not sweating over it. The priority is to just produce some words without pausing to think, rhyming and rhythm gives structure that makes it much easier.

Another auggestion:

If-then habits - e.g. if you want to open/just opened a website/app that you overuse, then go on kindle and read half a page of some book.

I'm just starting to implement it myself, but particularty the format where the cue is some bad habit/distraction seems promising because it makes both avoiding distractions and starting productive things easier (respectively by giving a concrete response and by providing a cue). It could at least sometimes change the course of the next hour or the whole day.

You can rehearse things like this, e.g. 1) almost open [website/app], 2) read half a page of a book 3) celebrate (e.g. fist up/saying "yeah" in your head), 4) repeat 10x.

These strategies are from Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg.

Especially for the rehearsals you can use wagering money too.

fuck it, y'all are on. I'll actually try to have a good jan. still not optimistic; if anyone would like to make it more likely, I probably should make some markets looking for information on how to get unburnt out as an adhd person, or so. Idk, maybe I already have what I need and just need to lean in... which is what betting on self-fulfilling prophecies is good for. I believe in me, y'all are going down 😎
