I might work on open source projects with light mentoring to improve my software engineering skills. After the projects wrap up, will I think that they will have been worth the time and effort in expectation? My counterfactual would either be research, math, or working less (I'll have to try and guess this afterwards).

If I don't do the projects, the market will resolve NA.
