I will include a question on my upcoming survey asking, "How would you describe the shape of the Earth?" The options are:
Flat
Round (spherical)
Oblate spheroid
Approximately an oblate spheroid with slight pear-shapedness
Geoid
Approximately a geoid, but with imperfections due to surface features that don't exactly match the ideal equigeopotential surface
Dinosaur-shaped
Hyperbolic plane
Other
Resolves to the percentage who say "Flat". If it's on the border of two bins, resolves to both bins equally.
See Plasma's Manifold Survey for other questions about the survey.
The survey is officially out! You can take it here: https://forms.gle/xZqWVxuY5irgLigu9

@evergreenemily I'm surprised you're so confident that only a small percentage of people will pick the joke option. Though I guess there being more than one joke option does make it less likely that a lot of people will specifically pick this one.
@JosephNoonan I think "Dinosaur-shaped" is a funnier joke option, and "ideal equigeopotential surface" is just a really funny phrase.
Also, I'm a geographer and every time anyone even jokingly claims that Earth is flat, I take psychic damage.
