Background
Following Bulgaria's victory at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with the song "Bangaranga" by DARA, the country secured the rights to host the 2027 edition.
On July 13, 2026, BNT announced that the host city race has been narrowed down to two finalist candidates:
Sofia (proposing Arena Sofia, capacity ~18,000)
Burgas (proposing Arena Burgas, capacity ~15,000)
Other initial applicants, Plovdiv and Varna, were eliminated in the first round of evaluation for failing to meet the EBU's strict technical and infrastructure requirements.
