I live in Greenville, SC and have been out of power for several days due to hurricane Helen.
There is another potential hurricane forming in the gulf:
Formation chances are significant for now. The chance of development in the next 48 hours is low (10%), the NHC said. However, that chance becomes "medium" (40%) in the next seven days.
Will I loose power again for more than 10 hours due to this other potential hurricane?
If this hurricane doesn't form in the next 4 weeks, this question resolves to NO.
A hurricane coming from somewhere else other than what is reported in the link below does not count for this question.
This question resolves in a month unless it is clear we need more time.

FYI, I am considering hurricane Milton to be the "potential hurricane" here. Wikipedia has it dissipating on October 12th and I have not lost power. Thanks for betting!

That particular disturbance has dispersed and is no longer being tracked.

@KarlK I'm not really qualified to evaluate this, but the link in the original description has been continuously updated about the storm and it looks like it has developed into a hurricane, but it is heading to Florida not inland.
