Considering how up in the air everything is at Marvel right now – along with the fact that audiences are increasingly avoiding comic-book movies – a full-tilt reboot could be exactly what they need.

While Marvel has announced upcoming movie titles that eliminate any mention of the Kang Dynasty, they haven't said outright that they're dropping the character of Kang entirely, plus with RDJ returning as Dr. Doom, it's at least possible Marvel will hire a different actor altogether – either a major new one, or (this is a stretch, but still) maybe that's what they're bringing Chris Evans back in to play – so Kang's fate at present is at best unknown.
