Author and independent researcher Dennis McCarthy performed an analysis using plagiarism detection software and concluded that Shakespeare lifted phrases from North on numerous occasions that had never been used by anyone else in the history of the English language.

He also draws many parallels between events of North's life and plays written by Shakespeare.

He lays this argument out in his book "Thomas North: The Original Author of Shakespeare's Plays", though it has received no attention either positive or negative from mainstream Shakespeare scholars.

Resolves yes if by 2040 Shakespeare's Wikipedia page outright claims North wrote one or more of his plays or it suggests it is likely that he did so.
