Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to YES if Donald Trump is physically present inside the stadium (SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California) for any portion of the USA's first match of the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup (scheduled against Paraguay on Friday, June 12, 2026). Otherwise, this market will resolve to NO.

  • Postponements & Venue Changes: If the match is postponed, rescheduled, or relocated, the resolution criteria will apply to the rescheduled first match played by the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) in the tournament. If the USMNT does not play a match in the tournament, the market will resolve to N/A.

  • Attendance Definition: Attendance is defined as physical presence within the stadium gates at any point between the opening gates and the final whistle. Brief or ceremonial appearances (such as delivering a pre-match speech or watching from a luxury suite) are sufficient to trigger a YES resolution.

  • Sources: Resolution will be determined using official White House press pool reports, photographic/video evidence from major sports media outlets, or reports from reputable news sources (e.g., AP News, Reuters, ESPN, or Fox Sports).

Background

The 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup is jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) is set to kick off its tournament run on June 12, 2026, against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Southern California.

Donald Trump has maintained high involvement in the tournament's buildup, establishing a Federal World Cup Task Force and attending the official tournament draw in December 2025. Given his close relationship with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and his history of attending major domestic sporting events, traders are speculating on whether the President will make a high-profile appearance at the USMNT's opening match.
