9 pm refers to the local time in Illinois in the same day as waking up. I am historically bad at sleeping at college competitions (and have slept after 11 in all recent competitions) and also normally sleep at around 11 pm or later.

In the case of an all nighter, the day afterwards is an exception to this. I will not bet in this market for obvious reasons.
