Resolution criteria
Resolves YES if, in the official One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda, any canon member of the Straw Hat Pirates is explicitly transformed by Imu into a “devil” (e.g., devil/demon/oni) due to Imu’s direct action or ability. The transformation must be stated or clearly labeled in dialogue, narration, or official materials (e.g., SBS in a collected volume). Evidence must come from an officially released chapter/volume (not leaks/spoilers). Primary sources to check: https://www.viz.com/shonenjump/chapters/one-piece and https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/titles/200016.
Anime depictions count only if they adapt canon manga content and are consistent with the manga; otherwise manga takes precedence. For anime verification: https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/GRMG8ZQZR/one-piece.
Exclusions: metaphorical insults; temporary illusions/dreams; non-canon movies/games/filler; “becoming a Devil Fruit user” alone does NOT count.
If the manga concludes without such an event, resolves NO.
Background
“Straw Hats” means officially inducted crew members of the Straw Hat Pirates as recognized in the manga (honorary/allied characters like Vivi are excluded unless formally inducted on-panel).
Imu is the clandestine sovereign associated with the Empty Throne and the World Government; detailed abilities remain limited/obscure in canon as of now.
Considerations
Translation variance: “devil,” “demon,” or “oni” are acceptable if the scene plainly describes a transformation caused by Imu. If wording is ambiguous, default to the official VIZ English or Japanese tankobon text.
Resolution will wait for official releases (no early resolution from spoiler summaries).
