The 2024 US Presidential Election showed notable shifts to the right in much of New York City. Will the Republican Party capitalize on these gains in the city council election the next year?
Republicans currently hold 5 of the chamber's 51 seats (1 in The Bronx, 1 in Queens, 1 in Brooklyn, and 2 in Staten Island), and all seats are up for election in 2025. This election is held concurrently with the mayoral election.
This market will resolve YES if Republicans win 6 or more seats, and resolve NO if Republicans win 5 or fewer.
