@SarkanyVar Not sure how you get your probabilities but we've been trading against each other on a few markets and I was doing it with what seemed to me like a healthy profit margin, so that seems like something that can be improved aside from the reaction games part :)
@NamesAreHard Yea, not implying otherwise. Still guess it's just not my thing. I am mostly in these markets to mop up liquidity to fund other pursuits, seeing how it had been a relatively risk-free and infrequent trading environment. Trading against other peep based on live chances is a bit too high-stress for me. It also made watching soccer games a bit less enjoyable for me personally.
I have seen probabilities from more objective models which do suggest I deviate from them sometimes, and theoretically I can try to calibrate my decision boundary more vigorously - but then again, I feel like other pursuits are more rewarding personally compared to the efforts and mental energy required. But in any case, I don't make those comments to imply any frustration other than about myself 😂 What you are able to do across many markets is very impressive, imo.
@SarkanyVar No worries, I didn't read any implication there and was just trying to be helpful :) I started betting on the sports markets for the same reason as you, just easy mana to fund the other stuff, but then I found them quite fun and now it's pretty much the only thing I still do on Manifold as I stopped doing any serious trading a couple months ago.
@NamesAreHard Interesting! And thanks a lot for the advice. I think perhaps in time my views can evolve too, I can see the appeal in some sense. In any case, best of luck to your trading and have fun!
