What's going to happen at the Lenovo Chinese Grand Prix 2024? Side bets for the China Grand Prix, you can add your own answers. About both Qualifying (20th of April), Sprint (20th) and the Grand Prix (21st of April), or about free practice if you want to add those. Markets should reasonably resolve before the GP after starts.

Markets are resolved according to the following criteria: https://gist.github.com/kevinburke/190b4c7fedfae12bc8e115519f4a9541

GUIDELINES:

  • I reserve the right to NA any answer for any reason, to combat duplicates or abuse.

  • Make your answer submissions as clear and descriptive as possible. I reserve the right to rephrase answers as needed.

For your convenience I've prefixed the questions that definitely end after qualification with Q: so you can alphabetically sort them during qualy.

Clarifications:

The Q questions, about qualification are about the Qualification for the main race, not the qualification for the sprint race.
'Between Ferrari and Mercedes, Ferrari qualify higher' means for the qualifying positions after Q3, before penalties, Ferrari has a car more at the front (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) than either Mercedes car.

'At least 1 big crash during the entire weekend (trainings, qualy or race)': A crash can be just 1 person into the wall. Has to not be a little wall collision, has to involve serious damage to the car. By example Zhou in practice in Saudi Arabia would could. Very likely means the car cannot continue another lap.

'17+ cars finish the main race' how many cars finish the last lap of the main race, also means if 1 car doesn't start the race it will be 1 less car that crosses the finish line. This is race cars, the safety car or anything does not count.

An interesting race overall, predictable end sprint, but shaken up middle with the safety cars, and Alonso taking a wildly different strategy.

@000 Thanks, 2.6 at least, he's going off into the distance!

I’m looking for more answers on my F1 prop bets market if anyone would like to propose some (I’m happy to spend on the answers). Good ones on this market for inspiration.

The sainz crash in Q2 does not count, he could still bring it back to the pit and race that same qualy session.

Sprint race definitely worth watching, good action for the 3rd place. Qualifying in an hour!

First qualifying for the sprint race was absolute chaos in the newly asphalted track and rain, no grip anywhere.

Just a quick note for future reference: if a car doesn’t start the race, it’s classified as ‘DNS’ (Did Not Start), not ‘DNF’ (Did Not Finish). So, saying ‘DNF after starting the race’ is a bit redundant.

@Benedikt This is totally true and I learned this the hard way the first time, but I prefer to state it outright to avoid confusion among betters

Seems like we already had a big crash? Sargent into the wall in FP1, had to retire, "enormous damage" https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EUg9K3by0Do

@poppinfresh So this market is for the China GP in 2 weeks and not the Japan GP that's going on, but yeah hadn't looked at it much the Sargent crash might qualify for the Japan GP market.
