Will Google maps stop following China's law which requires misaligning the satellite layer?

For many years, Google and many other mapping providers obey a Chinese law which blocks them from presenting accurately laid out satellite imagery combined with roads and poi. This is visible today globally if you use Google maps and zoom in, then enable satellite imagery. See examples below. It has been this way for at least 20 years.

This is about if Google stops following this law for the mapping product for us users, even though China hasn't updated or removed the limitation. This state must persist for at least a week for logged in US users. If so, YES

If China removes limit, ie other China providers both inside and outside stop doing this misalignment, NA

If time out, NO

If Google Maps is banned in China, why are they doing this?

@bohaska indeed. They do still have offices there for Google in general.
