She is 39 weeks along. Went in to the hospital June 20th 11pm to be induced. Starting at midnight (June 21st) they gave her cytotec which is a vaginal suppository that softens the cervix until 1pm (June 21st) then she was given synthetic oxytocin to force contractions until 6pm. They are planning on putting in the folly balloon at 9pm tonight which forces the dilation of the cervix further. She is maybe 1 cm dilated a the moment. More to come…
Jun 22, 12:08pm: She received her first epidural to mediate the contraction pains at 11 am on June 22nd. Her water might have broken as well but we are waiting to hear back.
Jun 22, 12:30pm: 3cm dilated and contractions are like early active labor.
Jun 22, 1:53pm: Contractions are 2 minutes apart and she is being switched from side to side on the bed to help the baby’s head move down. Not much pain as an indicator though because of the epidural.
