Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if Ron DeSantis is officially selected as the Republican nominee for President of the United States for the 2028 U.S. presidential election.

Resolution will be determined by the official roll call vote and formal nomination at the 2028 Republican National Convention, or through official certification by the Republican National Committee (RNC). Confirmation can be verified via official RNC convention records (e.g., GOP.com) or consensus reporting from major news outlets (such as the Associated Press).

If another individual is formally nominated as the GOP presidential candidate, or if the 2028 Republican National Convention concludes without DeSantis securing the presidential nomination, this market resolves to NO. If DeSantis runs as the vice presidential nominee rather than the presidential nominee, this market resolves to NO.

Background

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis previously ran in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries before suspending his campaign after the Iowa caucuses. Because Florida gubernatorial term limits prevent him from seeking a third consecutive term in 2026, political analysts frequently view him as an early contender for the open 2028 Republican primary field alongside figures such as Vice President JD Vance. DeSantis has continued to maintain national political visibility and federal PAC infrastructure, though he has publicly downplayed or denied formal moves toward a 2028 campaign.
